Less than five minutes of cycling brings you into the bustling Inman Square neighborhood before L | Belmont turns onto a nearly mile-long stretch of mostly protected bike lane on Beacon Street into the greater Porter Square area. Continuing into North Cambridge on Massachusetts Avenue, a left in about another mile takes you onto what becomes a series of dedicated, off-road bike paths, including the Alewife Linear Path, past the Alewife MBTA rapid transit station and onto the Fitchburg Cutoff Path. The line ends with a mile-long separated bike path on Concord Avenue in Belmont.
